Within the last three weeks, I have been researching how intergenerational trauma can affect motherhood and how this is connected to my personal history.
By trying to understand the history of the two mothers in the generations before me, I am hoping to learn more about myself and what motherhood could mean to me. This, I did by starting a dialogue with my mother about my grandmother's upbringing and her way of raising my mother. I followed up on that, by taking self portraits with my mother and letting her pick out imagines from my grandmothers archive.
